WYNYARD CRICKET CLUB WELCOMES ITS FIRST DIRECTOR OF CRICKET OPERATIONS (DCO)
Date of Event Cricket North West: Wed Aug 14, 2019 9:02PM
WYNYARD DCO

The DCO role is a new initiative to work as a conduit between the Club's Committee and coaches/officials. It is a position recommended to us by Cricket Tasmania to assist our Club in player, coach, and Club development. Circular Head stalwart John House has accepted this role for the upcoming season. Congratulations John.

John's role will see him at the Club most Thursdays as well as some matches to assist the Committee with activities such as leading Spirit of Cricket principles, guiding a training regime, implementing transparent selection guidelines, appointing coaches, and identifying and promoting coach and player development opportunities. John will work closely with, and alongside of, Damien Harvey (JDO) and Hayley Marshall (FDO). This role aims to help free coaches up to do what they do best... coach!

A bit about John... played A Grade cricket in Circular Head, starting as a 15 year old, scoring approximately 13,000 A Grade runs. He was a top order batsman who also took over 500 wickets as an off-spin bowler. He captained/coached teams for 12 years. He started junior development in Circular Head schools in early 2000s. He was qualified as a Level 2 coach in 2002 and worked for the Tasmanian Cricket Association in a junior development capacity for 10 years. John has coached both junior girls and boys representative teams, as well as some of Circular Head's star players.

Welcome to Wynyard Cricket Club John.

More announcements to come.
