Congratulations to all the ladies who participated in Game 1 of the Female Rep series against Cricket North on Sunday at Sheffield. The game went down to the wire with North coming out 1 wicket winners with 3 overs to spare.
CNW started their innings well with an opening 50 stand between Monatan Bradley(16 off 25) and Kate Chaplin (36 off 56) but struggled to find anymore big scores with Hannah Magor closing out innings with 24 off 37 and posting a total 9/173 off 40 overs. Emma Elliott collected 3 wickets for the North and Belinda Wegman and Ava Curtis 2 each. In reply Cricket North lost Amy Duggan early to a great catch at point by CNW skipper Georgia King but Ellie Matthews came to the crease and combined for 93 stand with Ava Curtis. As wickets fell around Ava due to some excellent bowling from Magor 3/32, Phoebe Barnett 2/31 and Montana Bradley 2/13, she still managed to tick the score along. In the end Ava produced a game winning knock of 85* off 106 with 6 boundaries to see her side home.
